With version 2020.2 of TRUECHART the Table 2.0, that will replace the legacy table in the future, got introduced.
Creating a Table 2.0
Table visualization can be created on initial TRUECHART objects or in a grid cell you like by selecting Table below the chart or commenting section from the cell type selector on an initial cell or in the settings editor.
The table elements will be disabled unless at least one dimension and one measure are available for the TRUECHART object.
After selecting the table visualization, a legacy table is created initially. To activate the new Table 2.0, click the toggle at the top of the table settings.
When switching from one version to another, TRUECHART will convert the settings to allow a seamless transition.
Settings
The table specific settings are split into several topics, which can be found in the navigation menu.
- Context selector if multiple contexts are available
- Table layout
- 1934076
- 1934076
Dimension Settings
The dimension settings feature all the settings associated with the handling and rendering of the table’s dimensions
Show at
Defines the position and visibility of the dimension.
Property | Description |
---|---|
None | Hides the dimension entities |
Axis | Shows the dimension entities |
Show header
Shows, if checked, the dimension name above the table column.
Collate
Repeated dimension values will be collated to just one cell to avoid redundancy.
Alignment
Choose the alignment of the dimension elements. Possible alignments:
Vertically: Top/Bottom
- Horizontally: Left/Middle/Right
Repeat notation
Repeats, if checked, the table column header notation in the table footer.
Measure General Settings
In the measure settings the visualization of every measure is configured. Clicking on the button on the right side it is possible to jump to Measure settings of the corresponding measure.
Type
The type dropdown contains all the applicable measure visualizations. The available options depend on the measure type (e.g. list comment) that is used.
Currently the Table 2.0 supports the following types:
- None
- Value
- Comment
- Number comment
- Date comment
- Flag comment
- List comment
Axis mid
In table visualizations, the Axis mid option will force the axis of graphical representation to be centered in the column instead of automatically adjusted based on the min–max span.
Notation
The Notation option provides different ways of displaying the measure’s meaning, specified in the data rules.
The options "Element&Header" and "Element&Axis" are only available if "Reference" is enabled in the data rules of the measure.
Property | Description |
---|---|
Element | The visualization concept of the base datatype affects the element, e.g. a bar. |
Header | The visualization concept of the base datatype affects the header of the table. |
Axis | The visualization concept of the base datatype affects the axis. |
Element&Header | Additional to element notation the table header is affected by the reference visualization concept. |
Elemet&Axis | Additional to the element notation, the axis is affected by the reference visualization concept. |
Concept
The Concept option is used to define one of the visualization concepts. Depending on the specified time type (Past Past, Past, Actual, Future) and the scenario (actual, budget, forecast) in the base data rule settings of the data context for the current measure and depending on the Notation setting (see above), the following defined base concept settings are used for:
- Visualization elements (Notation = Element or Element&Header or Element&Axis)
- Visualization headers (Notation = Header)
- Visualization axis (Notation = Axis)
Property | Description |
---|---|
Area | Uses color settings (Border, Pattern, Background) from the notation manual section Concept = Other (based on scenario and time type)
Uses fill pattern settings from the notation manual section Concept = Area. Default fill patterns in notation manual are
|
Color | Uses color settings (Border, Pattern, Background) from notation manual section Concept = Color (based on scenario and time type)Uses fill pattern settings from the notation manual section Concept = Other. |
Area-Color | Uses color settings (Border, Pattern, Background) from notation manual section Concept = Color (based on scenario and time type)Uses fill pattern settings from the notation manual section Concept = Area. |
The following screen shows how color and area settings will be taken from the notation manual dependent on the relevant data rule settings:
Reference
Same as Concept, but it applies to the referenced element (Header or Axis) in the notation setting of the table. This setting is only active when Notation is set to Element&Header or Element&Axis.
Depending on the specified time type (Past Past, Past, Actual, Future) and the scenario (actual, budget, forecast) in the reference data rule settings of the data context for the current measure and depending on the Notation setting (see above), the following defined reference concept is additionally used to the given base conception for:
- Visualization headers (Notation = Element&Header)
- Visualization axis (Notation = Element&Axis)
|
Legend / Header
Show
Determine how the legend label should be displaced. This can affect the position or how it is displaced.
Property | Description |
---|---|
None | Don't show the legend label |
Left | Align the legend label to the left side of the table column |
Center | Align the legend label to the center of the table column |
Right | Align the legend label to the right side of the table column |
Notation | Uses the notation manual settings for the legend label. This is useful to achieve a unified design for the whole app. |
