Getting started in TRUECHART4QLIKSENSE
This document describes the first steps on how to use TRUECHART4QLIKSENSE.
Prerequisites
It is assumed that TRUECHART is already installed. If not, consult the TRUECHART Installation Guide to get a detailed explanation of the installation process.
Furthermore, users must be created in order for the TRUECHART visual to communicate with the TRUECHART service. If you need help, consider reading the TRUECHART Service Guide.
First steps
Add TRUECHART to sheet in an analysis app
To create a TRUECHART visualization, go into the Edit mode in a new or existing sheet. In the Objects pane, choose Custom objects and drag TRUECHART onto your sheet. This will immediately reveal the TRUECHART object’s properties panel.
Figure 1. Creating a new TRUECHART extension from the Extensions assets panel (1) will unveil TRUECHART’s properties panel (2).
Initial shows TRUECHART the following choices. Among other things, you can use templates, comments (title, subtitle, comment) and various layout elements (grid, button, URL and blank). Since no data is available yet, no charts (time, structure, table) can be created at first.

Add data to TRUECHART
The next step is providing TRUECHART data from your app. It is possible to define multiple data contexts in the TRUECHART object.
After opening the Data section in TRUECHART’s properties panel, you will see three sub-sections:
Data context
Choose the context you want to edit here or add new ones. Upon creation, there’s already a new, empty context to define data for.
Alternate state
Every data context can have a different selection state also called Alternate State. The alternate state is defined by selecting its name in the select box.
Dimension
Define the dimensions here. It is recommended to activate the sum and limits for dimensions if required, because TRUECHART is able to display them automatically.
Measure
Define the measures here.
After giving the empty data context a meaningful name, add your dimensions and measures:
