Create a Collapsible MENUBAR
Introduction
From v2023.1.0 onwards the MENUBAR has the functionality to collapse into a single image button. This function is to allow users to have more space on their Qlik Sense Enterprise and Qlik Cloud applications to display their visuals, simply expanding the MENUBAR, making your selections and closing it again.
This page seeks to guide users in the process of setting up a collapsible MENUBAR.
This is available to both horizontal and vertical MENUBARs, where Horizontal will always expand top to bottom and a Vertical will always expand left to right.
Existing MENUBAR Visuals
With existing Master item MENUBARs, it is suggested to make a duplicate and replace your MENUBARs on the sheets required.
Setup of a Collapsible MENUBAR (Both Vertical and Horizontal)
Place your MENUBAR on the sheet and configure all the required items :
Don't know what items we have?
For a comprehensive list of the items available in MENUBAR and what they do, follow this link
Set the MENUBAR as Collapsible in the Universal > General settings of the visual:
A message will pop up in the corner to indicate that the MENUBAR should be set as a Master item.
Please note
This is a crucial function to the Collapsible MENUBAR and must be enabled
Right click on your MENUBAR and select "Add as Master Item" :
Place your MENUBAR master item on any sheet required and set it to the required size.
Sizing of the Collapsed MENUBAR
The width of the MENUBAR will still adhere to the width of the visual
With Horizontal MENUBAR items, the height of the visual will be adhered to
Should a custom icon/image be required, users can set this by editing the master item and selecting the first item in the list "Collapsible Button"
Please note
This item is static and cannot be changed or removed if the Collapsible option is enabled
Users can then configure a custom button image in Universal settings by clicking on the MENUBAR ICON in the builder and then uploading the image under I”MAGE URL” :
With this configured, your MENUBAR will now always appear minimized unless you click on it to make selections:
