Dimension settings
The Dimensions list in the Context settings shows all the defined dimensions for the selected context.
Figure 1. Dimension Settings Menu.
General
In order to edit a dimension just click on the dimension you want to edit. In case of drill down dimension, only the sub dimensions are editable.
In the General settings you can define a custom name for the dimension, which is displayed in your visualization.
You can add a description and multiple tags for the dimension. The description and tags are used to find and differentiate the dimension when using templates.
By setting a display condition you can dynamically hide the dimension in all your visualizations. The dimension (labels) will be shown, when the result of the condition is empty string, true, 1, -1 and hidden in any other case.

First Value
Allows you to edit the first value of a dimension. You can add a first value at the start of your dimension entities or rename the actual first value.

Rest
Rest calculation is enabled by default and limited to 20 entries to match best practices of IBCS and improve painting performance.
The rest settings allow changing the position and the label of the rest value. To show a rest you need to activate the rest in the BI or you can add a rest by activating the calculate by TRUECHART option.
When the rest is calculated by TRUECHART you need to define how many entries and how the entries are interpreted. You also need to define a target which should be used for the rest. There are two options as a target:
Self: The dimension entities are used for sorting
BI-Measure: The values of the selected measure are used for sorting

Total Value
The total value settings allow changing the position and the label of the total. To show a total you need to activate the total in the BI or you can add a total by activating the calculate by TRUECHART option.
The Checkbox for dimension allows to calculate totals grouped by the parent dimension. When the dimension checkbox is active the total label is cleared, and the input is deactivated. Furthermore, dimension total grouping only works with totals calculated by TRUECHART, therefore when using the dimension grouping the calculation by TRUECHART will always be active. The hierarchy checkbox enables the dimension to be displayed as a hierarchy. The dimension is then displayed at the control break. A dimension hierarchy should only be used in combination with the dimension total grouping of the parent dimension for the hierarchy.

Time
If the selected dimension contains time-based values, you can configure the type of time-based value that is stored in the dimension and define how the formatting of the time-based dimension should look like in a chart object.
In the settings you can define how each part of a date is displayed.

Sorting
Allows sorting the values of the dimension, based on your selection the values will be sorted from top-down or bottom-up. The sorting is based on your target. There are two options as a target:
Self: The dimension entities are used for sorting
BI-Measure: The values of the selected measure are used for sorting
