How to: Setup SSO with TRUECHART and Microsoft Entra ID
Please note that this functionality does not currently work in TRUECHART for Power BI.
Introduction:
This is a step by step guide to help you setup a single sign on connection in TRUECHART using Microsoft Azure.
Â
When signed into Microsoft Azure, select âMicrosoft Entra IDâ
Â
Click on App registrations and click on âNew registrationsâ
Â
Type in the name(The name in the screenshot is just an example)
Select ââŠSingle tenantâ and click on register
Â
Â
You will be in your newly created application:
Select Authentication
Click on âAdd a platformâ
Click on âSingle-page applicationâ
Â
Under âRedirect URIsâ, you would need to configure your Qlik Sense urlâs(URLâs in these screenshots are just examples).
Initially you would use the host name(Localhost, not the full application URL) and click on configure.
Â
Â
Under Single-page application, click on Add URI and specify your Qlik sense/Cloud URL eg: âhttp(s)://Qliksense.comâ and click on Save
Â
Click on overview and copy the following. (You will require this to configure SSO in TRUECHART management console):
Application(client) ID
Directory (tenant) ID
Log into TRUECHART Management Console
Click on âUser managementâ and on âActive Directoryâ and SSOâ and then âSSO Setupâ
Click on the Activate check box
Insert your Client ID and Tenant ID that was copied from Azure and click on âSave changesâ
Â
Â
Then you would need to download the TRUECHART/KPI-Chat extensions from TCMC and import them into Qlik Sense/Cloud.
In Qlik sense Hub when you drag and drop a TTRUECHART or KPI-Chat extensions onto your sheet for the first time. You will get a popup permissions screen where you would need to click on accept the SSO connection.
Â
Â
Once you have authenticated you would be able to use TRUECHART or KPI-CHAT.
